What real measure of legal expertise could our Firm truly hold, if we blinded ourselves to the laws of the Most Consummate Authority?

Likewise, how could we ever claim zealously to safeguard the best interests of our Clients, if we never once offered them counsel upon the most critical decision of them all: a fleeting opportunity, the loss of which renders any and all competing deliberations
wholly meaningless???

Jesus Christ posed the related question as follows: "
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36).

In the ponderous moment offered by this challenge from the Almighty, we submit the following for each Reader's sober consideration:




THE PRECEPTS OF SALVATION



I. Is There Anyone Who Is Perfect In God's Eyes, And Thus, Eligible to Enter Heaven on Their Own Merits ???

  • "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one." (Romans 3:10).



II. Are There Any Exceptions To This Reality???

  • "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23).



III. What Is Sin's Point of Origin???

  • "Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." (Romans 5:12).



IV. What Are The Consequences of Sin???

  • "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).



V. Is Hell An Actual Place, And Is It Really A Site of Eternal Torment???

  • " . . . into the fire that never shall be quenched . . . Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." (Mark 9:44).

VI. Does God Actually Wish This Horrible Destiny Upon Us-- That Each of Us Should Suffer, For All Eternity, In Hell?!?!?

  • "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. " (2 Peter 3:9).


VII. Is There Any Alternative To This Certain Fate (Spending An Eternity In Hell, After We Die)???

  • "16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:16-19).


VIII. Who Pays the Cost of Our Sin Debt, Under this Freely Given Alternative???

  • "27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

  • "1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."


IX. Are There Any Other Alternative Paths By Which Someone Can Avoid Hell, And To Enter Heaven's Gate???

  • "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6).

  • "9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 9-11).



X. How Can One Obtain Salvation Through Jesus Christ???

(1) CALL UPON THE LORD IN PRAYER, CONFESSING THAT YOU ARE A HOPELESS SINNER, DESTINED FOR HELL;

(2) SINCERELY REPENT OF YOUR SINS, TURNING AWAY FROM ALL INIQUITY, AND TURNING INSTEAD TO THE LORD;

(3) BELIEVE UPON JESUS CHRIST, ASKING HIM TO BECOME YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR.



XI. Is It Possible To Obtain Salvation, Without Turning Away From The Practice of Sin???

Jesus came ". . . to save his people from [not in] their sins." (Matthew 1:21).

"If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15).

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:16-23).

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Galatians 6:7).

"2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. (1 John 2:2-5).

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12:14).



XII. Can A Believer Lose Their Salvation, By Resuming to A Life of Sin, And Not Repenting From That Serious Error???

  • 20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (1 Peter 2:20-22).

  • "9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Cor. 6:9-10).

  • "I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do thy first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove the candlestick out of his place, except thou repent." (Revelation 2:4-5).
